Examples of Theme Based Variations

A Day at the Beach Theme
Part 2 will spark in you through examples, all sorts of ways to have variations to the Brain Dance.

Halloween Theme for 5-6 Year Olds
For studios that do celebrate Halloween, there are many directions you can go.
Simple connecting to the various popular costumes is an easy start and likely will not bring in any scary stuff.
Most older students DO like the scary stuff when presented in a safe and fun way. And imaging during the Brain Dance is a great way to do that.

Sneak Peek of Part 3:
Advanced Strategies

Reflex Integration
Retained reflexes are a huge challenge for the students of today, although most parents and dance teachers know nothing about them. Helping students to integrate reflexes is a huge lifetime gift to them and can be done with specific movements inserted strategically into the Brain Dance variations.

Assessment Tool
By keenly observing how students are managing each pattern, you can learn much about their coordination readiness for higher level dance skills. This assessment ability will also allow you to support older students struggling with higher level skills, by knowing which patterns to return to for greater development.

Adding Imagery
Utilizing the power of imagery can become your greatest skill, and applying it to the Brain Dance will be addressed.
Coming from imagery will be fun for the students and get them fully engaged right at the start of class.

Co-Creation with Students
One of the best ways to engage students is to involve them in the creation of new themes and imagery.
The ideas of your students can be guided and will help to fill your tank each and every class.
