Teaching Young Children is a Special Skill Set

Imagination

You need to be able to enter the world of the child in order to effectively guide and engage them.

Creativity

Well honed creativity is essential to be able to continually create guided experiences to explore all the various foundational dance skills.

Knowlege

There are many areas of knowledge required as the foundation for the use of your creativity and imagination.

WHY to Teach Young Children

  • This age will help to improve your skills for teaching All Ages

  • Make a Difference in the lives of students for LIFE

  • Confidently share the Foundation Skills for all dance genres

  • Stay Young at Heart Yourself

You Likely have a Full Toolkit but is there MORE?

Just having a full prop cupboard and great music is not enough...but it is a wonderful beginning.

Following an established cirriculum is not necessary if you develop the skills that were used to develop this cirriculum. And with the skills you develop, you can remain fresh and always able to teach the ever changing dynamic of the classes before you.

You will be able to adapt and grow over the years as the students of today continue to change and evolve.

WHAT to Teach

Teach the ABCV's

Young children do not need an early start learning the dance steps of their future.

What do they need?

The movement skills that will underlie and support all the dance skills to come is the best choice for young children.  This will then prepare students for all possible dance genres and ensure that any missing building blocks are addressed before the stress of refined dance steps.

HOW To Teach

By considering each of the 4 Key Areas all the necessary teaching skills can be addressed fully.

Taking the time to understand each area will help you dive deeply into how children learn best and therefore how to be a happy teacher that can avoid the all too common burn-out, frustration and exhaustion of teaching these ages.

Teaching Young Children is Meant to Be Fun and Joyous for ALL!

That can ONLY happen if the WHAT and HOW are age appropriate.
