Background

Mariah-Jane has been loving and caring for animals personally and professionally for over 40 years. She grew up with pets (4 at one time!) and always had pets, sometimes choosing a home simply because they allowed her to have pets!

Training

Beyond the real life training beginning in her childhood, Mariah-Jane had official training with the SPCA as part of her foster experiences. This included learning to manage stressed animals (cats and dogs) and helping them to feel safe.

Experience

Over 40 years has cared for dozens of animals that we hers, those of friends, foster and as an official pet sitter. To date Mariah-Jane has had 20 pet sit assignments caring for 13 cats and 10 dogs. In just the 1st year on the official sites she has had numerous requests for repeat sits.

I am a mid-50's single lady based out of Vancouver, Canada. I have arranged my life and business so that I can travel, pet sit and work online.

I am passionate about my works as a dance educator. I find travel deeply rewarding. The chance to experience our beautiful planet and engage with wonderful people of numerous cultures fills me up and humbles me. And I have always loved caring for animals and being a part of their joy in living a fun and content life.

Pet Sitting worldwide seems like the perfect opportunity to bring together all 3. I have always had a lot of love to give, that was easy to channel when teaching dance in person. The transition to online, means I have more to give to animals.

I am adaptable and reliable and happy to communicate as little or as much as you want while you are away. It can be "no news is good news" or regular pics showing the bonding and cuddling going on in your absence.

I am a non-smoker and my preference is homes that are non-smoking.

Why the name the "Animal Loveologist"?

In my mid-teens I thought I wanted to be a vet. I had the opportunity to go to a vet clinic and see what it was all about. After that experience, it became clear that the duties I really wanted was to simply cuddle and nurse the animals coming out of a surgery and help them to feel calm and loved.

I still remember the moment when I said..."I think I'm meant to be a Animal Loveologist and just go around loving animals.",

Throughout my adult life, regardless of the financial fluctuations, I have always donated to the SPCA and as soon as I had a landlord who said yes to pets, I began to foster.

And now, as a single lady, it is time to travel and pet sit.

Why I Pet Sit:

The Short Answer: I love to be of service and helpful: Both to Humans and Animals.

As the self proclaimed Animal Loveologist, (see above) I also have a lot of love to give. And instead of dating a lot...I want to give my love to Animals!

As I Travel and spend my days on the computer, having walks with dogs, and cats lying by the computer my days are filled with JOY.
