Does your Child have Dreams of being on Pointe?

As a Parent of a dancing child, there is nothing

more important than supporting their dreams.

But HOW you do so is vital and can be really tricky.

Especially with something as risky as pointe work preparation.

There is a lot of Scary Stuff Out There in the Dance World

The examples of dancers poorly on pointe are everywhere!

Why?

Because there is a lot of poor training out there.

And unless you danced as a child yourself, how are you as a parent to know?

What are you to do?

When making a choice of how to give your child the best (and safest) training there are several factors to consider:

Quality Instruction

There are many fantastic and well qualified dance teachers out in studios and online.  There are also many teachers who are downright dangerous due to lack of knowledge on how to truly teach, especially with the safety of young minds and bodies as a top priority.

Being a great dancer is in no way linked to being a great dance teacher.   Great teachers, were born to teach.

Quality Content

If you need to trust that HOW a teacher does the teaching, you equally need to be able to trust that the WHAT/the Content is what is what you are looking for and age and level appropriate.

In this case, is the content WHAT is truly needed at this time.  Just learning a series of exercises is not enough.  Are you being taught HOW to know if you doing them safely and effectively?

Good Value

If your child is going to invest the time, and you, the parent are going to invest the money, you need feel secure that you are getting good value.

Value for the Money

Value for the Time Investment

How do you know that?

Look at the quality of the instructor and the content.   If both are of high quality than the value is GREAT!

Does your Child Need Extra Help thru the Summer

in order to get closer to their Dreams?

Your child will need the extra support especially if they have:

  • Curling Toes
  • Flat Feet
  • High Arches/Banana Feet
  • Unstable Ankles
  • History of Ankle Sprains
  • Tight at the Front of the Ankle
  • Or, simply trying to catch up from starting late

Or, what if you know that your daughter has bigger dreams than her current level of maturity and understanding commitment?

Set her up for Success by giving her the skills of:

  • How to Practice
  • Self Assessment
  • Develop Noticing Skills
  • Planning and Charting
  • Keeping Inspired

How do you Give your Child ALL of THAT?
